NaschmarktU Karlsplatz. Large famous market with Turkish deli stalls, hip cafés and a plethora of stalls and snack joints, serving everything from falafel to sushi. On Saturday mornings a flea market extends south near U Kettenbrückengasse. Mon–Fri 6am–7.30pm, Sat 6am–5pm.

Further out, so with a distinctively local feel, Brunnenmarkt on Brunnengasse (UJosefstádter Strasse) sells everything from homewares to Turkish breads and pastries. At Yppenplatz, its northern end, there’s a farmers’ market on Saturday mornings, where you can pick up local produce or stop for brunch at one of the many cafés. Mon–Fri 6am–6.30pm, Sat 6am–2pm.
