Anyone know if travellers are able to cross from Tajikistan to China?
According to this site, you can
though worth checking with other sources
Thanks. It’s only next year that I’m hoping to travel there, and things could change, but it’s an indication. I’ve seen this site, and the guy says he knows about people, but didn’t do it himself.
In any case, I plan to loop down from Tashkent, enter China, and loop up through North-West China into Kazakhstan. I’ve already travelled in Kyrgyzstan. Love Central Asia, and want to get to know it more.
as the author of caravanistan, I felt the need to chime in. At the time this topic was written, it said on the site that although authorities said you could cross, I did not know if you could because no one had ever tried.
I never wrote, that you can unequivocally, only that you could try.
Anyway, the mystery is now solved and the site updated. Someone has tried to cross the Kulma pass and has been sent back by the Chinese. Meaning, you CANNOT cross from Tajikistan into China as a foreigner.
