Greyhound buses stop in downtown Burlington, at 219 S Winsooki St. The Amtrak train station is an inconvenient five miles northeast, in the small community of Essex Junction (connecting buses $1.25). The airport, Vermont’s largest, is a few miles east of town along US-2.

The local CCTA bus company (t 802/864-2282, w http://www.cctaride.org) runs a free shuttle (every 15–30min Mon–Fri 6.45am–9.30pm; Sat 9am–6.15pm, no Sun service) connecting the university campus, downtown and the waterfront.
