By far the easiest way of venturing beyond Ville de St-Pierre is to join a guided tour, and from mid-June to late September there are several day-trips to choose from. You can buy tickets at the tourism office in St-Pierre.
St-Pierre island Bilingual bus tours from Service Tourisme Roulet (11am and 6pm daily), or minivan tours (both €15, 1hr 20min) include four photo-stops.
Île aux Marins Guided tours run May to mid-Oct (2 daily; €22 including boat trip; reservations t 0508 41 02 00).
Miquelon and Langlade Chez Janot (w chezjanot.fr) offers bilingual day-tours that include a 1hr Zodiac ride from St-Pierre, transport on a 20-seat minibus to Miquelon village, Langdale and the Grand Barachois lagoon, and breakfast and lunch in restaurant Chez Janot (June–Sept 8.30am–5.30pm; €67).
