Other than the city centre, the place where you’re most likely to spend any time in Oslo is the Bygdøy peninsula, across the bay to the southwest of the main harbour, where five museums make for an absorbing cultural and historical excursion. It’s possible to cram all of them into a day’s sightseeing, but it’s better to spread a visit over a couple of mornings or afternoons.
