Sefrou hosts the Moussem of Sidi Lahcen el Youssi, a seventeenth-century saint, in August or September each year (exact date varies depending on the Islamic calendar), but it is the Fête des Cerises (w festivalcerises-sefrou.com), the annual cherry festival held a couple of months earlier, that is the big do around these parts, drawing sizeable crowds for its music, folklore and sports events – it usually takes place over the last weekend in June, climaxing with the crowning of the Cherry Queen on the Saturday evening.
