What would your ideal airline be like?

Inspired by Lotties question on airlines, I started wondering what would make an IDEAL airline.

If we could all magically make a new international airline from scratch, what would we (as experienced travellers) like it to be like?

I suppose it would be too much to hope that current airline bosses will read it and see the error of their penny pinching ways, but hey, it’s nice to dream.

I’ll get it started, for me the first thing would have to be a commitment to ALL passenger comfort. Get rid of ‘premium economy’ (what a joke that is!), business and first class, and fit planes with comfortable seats with enough room, pitch and space so that people can sit comfortably and my average size of 6″2 doesn’t have to endure pain or discomfort through the flight. Essentially make the entire plane more like business class.

Seats like this should be the norm. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2281186/The-revolutionary-new-design-airline-seats-make-economy-just-luxurious-class.html

If the airline wanted to charge extra for something, then there should be a segregated section at the back of the plane for families with children, this section can also be fitted with reclining seats for the selfish idiots who still think that reclining is appropriate. They can all pay extra for the privelige of having to use that section. (why should we have to pay extra to NOT put up with them which is becoming the norm now)?

The problem of overhead locker hoggers will also be solved with individual carry on sized lockers above individual seats.

An airline that commits to this would get my loyalty as a customer very quickly.

What else do you all think an ideal airline should do?

They are aren’t they? Airlines are really missing a trick by not installing them, okay they would lose 1 row of seats in economy, but they would gain a hell of a lot of customer satisfaction and loyalty! Which is more valuable in the long run?

  • Well, I’m sure this story details it well…

An elderly lady was about to embark on her first airplane flight. She sees the pilot going by and says, “You’ll be certain to get us down safely, won’t you?”.

The pilot replies, “I’ve never left anyone up there yet”….
